SoC is an annual symposium held at Tampere, Finland – The SoC City. It builds on the tradition of a series of SoC events organized annually since 1999. The mission of SoC is to provide a forum that is fully and comprehensively dedicated to SoC issues. The event is based on a balanced mixture of * world–class invited presentations * exhibition of state–of–the–art commercial technology * contributed paper track (since 2003) * industrial paper track * panel discussion * tutorial course (since 2001) The main organizer for the event is Tampere University of Technology Institute of Digital and Computer Systems in cooperation with timely research activities of the field. In 2004–2005 this means the national TELESOC graduate school. Since 2003 the event has technical co–sponsorship by the Circuits and Systems Society of IEEE. Keywords: Alternative computing paradigms
Analysis and early estimation techniques, technology roadmaps
Application–specific processors and architectures
Configurable and reconfigurable architectures
Design flow and methodology
Embedded processor hardware
Embedded software tools and techniques, e.g. retargetable compilers
Engineering education to qualify for SoC
Legal aspects and business opportunities
Low–power techniques
Multiprocessor SoC
Network–on–Chip
On–chip communication and interconnects
Physical design issues
Platform architectures
Reuse techniques
SoC applications
System–level integration
Tools and languages for SoC design
Verification, debugging, testing and testability
