Abstract

Nanotechnology is one of the most promising technological fields in the world today. The principle of molecular self–assembly holds the promise of changing the faces of medicine, aerospace and defense. Nanorobots within the human body may one day detect, find and eliminate diseases and threats to human health while they are still in the nascent stage. Nanoscale science could dramatically improve on current chemical, biological, and nuclear sensing technology, while ameliorating the cost, durability, and weight of extant aircraft building materials. No less intriguing is the potential for nanotechnology to solve the world′s long–term energy problems.
The inaugural IASTED International Conference on Nanotechnology and Applications (NANA 2008) will bring together leading experts in the fields of nanobiotechnology, nanoelectronics, aerospace and defense, power and energy, nanomaterials, and nanoethics. All papers submitted to this conference will be double blind reviewed by at least two reviewers. Acceptance will be based primarily on originality and contribution. Keywords: Bionanotechnology
Aerospace and Defense
Power and Energy
Electronics and Information Technology
Nanomaterials
