The third annual IEEE–NIH Life Science Systems and Application (LISA’07) workshop sponsored by IEEE and by the National Institute of Health’s Biomedical Information Science and Technology Initiative (BISTI, http://www.bisti.nih.gov/bistic2.cfm) will be held in the Lister Hill Auditorium, NIH Campus in November 2007. The objective of LISA’07 is to provide a forum for the presenting and discussing latest advances of systems technologies and applications in life and health sciences. The workshop

welcomes original technical papers advancing life science systems and applications. In addition, speakers will be invited from academia, industry, and government to address novel technologies and products expectation in life and health science domains. Invited speeches of this year will address technological and applicational issues of biomarkers and surrogate markers.

Keywords:

Biochip design in novel life and health science applications

Biomedical image computing and informatics

Biomedical automation and control

Biosystems and miniature instruments

Biosensors and biosensor networks

High–throughput devices and systems in life science

Image–guided diagnosis, biopsy, and therapy

Micro–nanoelectronics in life science applications

Modeling and simulation of systems biology

Multi–scale signal processing and imaging

Nanotechnology in life science

Novel architecture and applications of large–scale bio–systems

Systems and applications in biosciences, drug discovery,

personalized medicine, and public health

Genomic, proteomic, metabolomic, and imaging biomarkers

Impacts in predictive, preventive, and personalized medicine

Predictive modeling and simulation of biomarkers

Regulatory issues of bioscience devices and systems
