<DIV style=″TEXT–ALIGN: justify″>MWCN (Mobile and Wireless Communications Networks) and PWC (Personal Wireless Communications) are two conferences sponsored by IFIP WG 6.8 that provide forum for discussion between researchers, practitioners and students interested in new developments in mobile and wireless networks, services, applications and computing. In 2008, MWCN and PWC are coupled to form the first edition of IFIP Wireless and Mobile Networking Conference (WMNC). MWCN and PWC topics are revisited in order to make them complementary and covering together the main hot issues in wireless and mobile networks, services, applications, computing, and technologies.
Keywords: <DIV style=″TEXT–ALIGN: justify″>

<SPAN style=″FONT–WEIGHT: bold″>Architectures, protocols, and technologies for mobile and wireless networks
<SPAN style=″MARGIN–LEFT: 40px″>Wireless LAN, MAN
<SPAN style=″MARGIN–LEFT: 40px″>Body area networks
<SPAN style=″MARGIN–LEFT: 40px″>Personal area networks
<SPAN style=″MARGIN–LEFT: 40px″>Cellular networks
<SPAN style=″MARGIN–LEFT: 40px″>Satellite networks
<SPAN style=″MARGIN–LEFT: 40px″>Ad hoc networks
<SPAN style=″MARGIN–LEFT: 40px″>Wireless sensor networks
<SPAN style=″MARGIN–LEFT: 40px″>Wireless actor networks
<SPAN style=″MARGIN–LEFT: 40px″>Wireless mesh networks
<SPAN style=″MARGIN–LEFT: 40px″>Short–range Networks
<SPAN style=″MARGIN–LEFT: 40px″>Vehicle networks
<SPAN style=″MARGIN–LEFT: 40px″>Technologies: UWB, GSM, UMTS, CDMA, WCDMA

<DIV style=″TEXT–ALIGN: justify″>

<DIV style=″TEXT–ALIGN: justify″>

<SPAN style=″FONT–WEIGHT: bold″>Evolution of 3G Systems, 3G/4G networks, Future generation systems and networks

<DIV style=″TEXT–ALIGN: justify″>

<DIV style=″TEXT–ALIGN: justify″>

<SPAN style=″FONT–WEIGHT: bold″>Convergence
<SPAN style=″MARGIN–LEFT: 40px″>Protocols and platforms for convergence
<SPAN style=″MARGIN–LEFT: 40px″>Technology integration
<SPAN style=″MARGIN–LEFT: 40px″>Quality of service mapping between technologies
<SPAN style=″MARGIN–LEFT: 40px″>IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem)
<SPAN style=″MARGIN–LEFT: 40px″>Integration of heterogeneous mobile and wireless networks

<DIV style=″TEXT–ALIGN: justify″>

<DIV style=″TEXT–ALIGN: justify″>

<SPAN style=″FONT–WEIGHT: bold″>Multimedia and Multicasting
<SPAN style=″MARGIN–LEFT: 40px″>Wireless multimedia networking
<SPAN style=″MARGIN–LEFT: 40px″>Multicasting and broadcasting issues
<SPAN style=″MARGIN–LEFT: 40px″>Multimedia session signaling in wireless/mobile environments
<SPAN style=″MARGIN–LEFT: 40px″>Digital radio and TV broadcasting

<DIV style=″TEXT–ALIGN: justify″>

<DIV style=″TEXT–ALIGN: justify″>

<SPAN style=″FONT–WEIGHT: bold″>Mobile computing
<SPAN style=″MARGIN–LEFT: 40px″>Mobile networks and devices <SPAN style=″MARGIN–LEFT: 40px″>Mobility–aware architectures
<SPAN style=″MARGIN–LEFT: 40px″>Mobility and roaming
<SPAN style=″MARGIN–LEFT: 40px″>Nomadic computing
<SPAN style=″MARGIN–LEFT: 40px″>Mobility tracking schemes
<SPAN style=″MARGIN–LEFT: 40px″>Mobility management
<SPAN style=″MARGIN–LEFT: 40px″>Realistic mobility models

<DIV style=″TEXT–ALIGN: justify″>

<DIV style=″TEXT–ALIGN: justify″>

<SPAN style=″FONT–WEIGHT: bold″>Applications and services
<SPAN style=″MARGIN–LEFT: 40px″>Mobile and wireless applications: health, environmental protection,
<SPAN style=″MARGIN–LEFT: 40px″>vehicle guidance, traffic information,
<SPAN style=″MARGIN–LEFT: 40px″>infotainment, pervasive systems, RFID...
<SPAN style=″MARGIN–LEFT: 40px″>Location–based services
<SPAN style=″MARGIN–LEFT: 40px″>Mobile services
<SPAN style=″MARGIN–LEFT: 40px″>Content management and distribution
