Following the great success of the first <strong>IEEE Pacific Visualization Symposium</strong> held in Kyoto, Japan, in March 2008, we are excited to announce the <strong>Pacific Visualization Symposium 2009</strong>, which will take place in Beijing, China&#046; PacificVis is an <strong>IEEE VGTC</strong> sponsored international visualization symposium held in the Asian&#8211;Pacific region, with the objective to foster greater exchange between visualization researchers and practitioners, and to draw more researchers in the Asian&#8211;Pacific region to enter this rapidly growing area of research&#046;
