Abstract

The European Microwave Conference is the premier forum showcasing the current status and trends in the field of microwave, millimetre and sub–millimetre wave systems and technologies. The topics are ranging from fundamental electromagnetics and simulation tools, through passive/active components, antennas and propagation, up to complete systems, including the needed advanced manufacturing and measurement techniques. A special emphasis is placed on enabling technologies, such as MEMS, meta–materials, reconfigurable RF components and systems, sensor networks, cognitive radio and 4G communications. In line with the general focus of the EuMW 2012, the 42nd EuMC will feature several sessions concerning space technology and applications. Highly actual fields of research and development, such as (sub)millimetre wave systems and applications, and electromagnetic–biological interaction will be prominently present in the conference. As a novelty, the EuMC will host a focussed discussion on education and RF engineering aspects.
Upon enforcing a rigorous reviewing process that accepts exclusively first rate contributions, the conference is the perfect event to keep up to date with the most recent achievements in the microwave domain. Furthermore, it offers second–to–none opportunities to network and interact with international experts from the industrial and academic environments.
Conference Topics
Passive Components, Circuits and Subsystems
E1 Passive Components and Circuits
E2 Filters and Multiplexers
E3 Ferroelectrics, RF MEMS and MOEMS (common topic with EuMIC)
E4 Metamaterials, FSSs and Electromagnetic Bandgap Structures
E5 Interconnects and Packaging
E6 Emerging Technologies
E7 Modelling of Passive Components and Circuits
Active Devices, Circuits and Subsystems
E8 RFICs and MMICs
E8 Power Amplifiers and Linearisation Techniques
E9 Low Noise Circuits and Modules
E10 Tuneable and Reconfigurable Matching Networks and Active Filters
E11 Interconnects, Packaging and Multi–chip Modules
E12 Microwave Photonics
E13 CAD Techniques for Active Circuits and Modules
EM Field Theory and Simulation Techniques
E14 EM Field Theory and Numerical Techniques
E15 Metamaterials, FSSs and Electromagnetic Bandgap Structures
E16 Electromagnetic Interference and Signal Integrity
E17 Electromagnetic–Biological Interactions
Systems and Applications
E18 Transmitter and Receiver Modules, Base–Stations & Handheld Transceivers
E19 High Speed, Millimetre–Wave, THz and UWB Systems
E20 Low Cost High Volume Manufacturing
E21 Measurement Techniques and Systems
E22 Transport, Navigation, Security and Surveillance
E23 Industrial, Scientific and Medical Applications
E24 Systems Simulation and Characterisation
E25 Education and RF Engineering
Antennas and Propagation
E26 Antenna systems: Theory, Modelling and Measurement (common topic with EuRAD)
E27 Phased Arrays (active/passive) and related circuits and components (common topic with EuRAD)
E28 Electromagnetic Scattering, Channel Measurement and Propagation
E29 Smart Antennas, Digital Beam Forming and MIMO
E30 Focal Plane Arrays
Wireless Technologies & Applications (shared sessions with EuMIC)
E31 Mobile Communications (3GPP, LTE+, WiMAX etc)
E32 TV Broadcasting technologies for HD & 3D era
E33 Wireless Power Transfer and Energy Harvesting
E34 Wireless Multimedia Technologies
E35 Personal Area Networks & Wireless for Healthcare and Assisted Living
E36 RFID, NFC, Zigbee and Sensor Networks
Space Technologies and Applications
E37 Space–Based Systems and Remote Sensing (common topic with EuRAD)
E38 Satellite Communication Technologies (Space and Ground)
E39 Satellite Radionavigation Technologies
E40 Microwave, Millimeter and Sub–mm Wave Sensors for Space Research
Conference Highlights
