Abstract

The 9th European Radar Conference (EuRAD 2012) will be held from Wednesday 31st October to Friday 2nd November 2012 in Amsterdam as part of the European Microwave Week 2012. This Radar Conference is the major European forum for the present status and the future trends in the field of radar technology, system design, and applications. In the radar sub–systems and phenomenology topic area, the conference is focused on effects, modelling and measurements of electromagnetic phenomenology (such as RCS, clutter, propagation, sensing fundamentals, distributed sensing, etc.); antennas; phased arrays; Transmit/Receive module technology; mixed–signal subsystems and reconfigurable radar front–ends.

The radar signal processing topic covers digital beam–forming, interferometry, polarimetry, waveform diversity and data & signal processing for target tracking, localization, high resolution, imaging including Automatic Target Recognition (ATR) and Moving Target Indication (MTI). The radar architectures and systems topic addresses radar systems such as over–the–horizon, imaging and CW. It includes radar system performance modelling as well as emerging technology enabled systems such as ultra wide band (UWB), multi–sensor, multifunctional, network and MIMO radars. Surveillance, defence and security, environmental, remote sensing applications (including weather radar and SAR), medical imaging, marine and automotive radar are covered in the radar applications area.

Conference Topics

RADAR Sub–systems & Phenomenology

R01 Radar EM Phenomenology (RCS, clutter, propagation, sensing, etc.)
R02 Antenna Systems: Theory, Modelling and Measurements (common with EuMC)
R03 Phased Arrays (active/passive) and Related Circuits and Components (common with EuMC)
R04 Transmit/Receive Module Technology for Phased Arrays (common topic with EuMIC)
R05 Reconfigurable and Multifunction Radar Front–Ends
R06 Mixed Signal Radar Sub–Systems

RADAR Signal Processing

R07 Digital Beam–Forming on Receive and Transmit
R08 Interferometry and Polarimetry
R09 Waveform Diversity and Information Coding
R10 Radar Data Processing for Target Tracking, Localization, Classification and ATR
R11 High Resolution Processing, Imaging
R12 SAR/MTI/STAP Processing and Techniques, incl. 3D
R13 Compressive Sensing and Sparse Representation

RADAR Architectures and Systems

R14 UWB Systems
R15 Multi–Sensor Systems and Data Fusion
R16 Network, Passive and MIMO Radars
R17 Over–the–horizon Radars
R18 Imaging Radars
R19 CW Radars
R20 Multifunctional Systems: Communications, Radar, EW, Meteo and Positioning
R21 Radar System Performance Modelling and Simulation

RADAR Applications
R22 Airborne / Space–based Remote Sensing (common topic with EuMC)
R23 Surveillance Radar, Traffic Monitoring, Sense and Avoid
R24 Defence and Security Radar Applications
R25 Environmental Applications: Meteo, Remote Sensing, Ground Penetration, etc.
R26 Medical Imaging Radar
R27 Automotive Radar
R28 Industrial Applications
