Abstract

With new manufacturing technologies such as 450mm in development and with the continued growth of emerging and adjacent microelectronics markets (including high–brightness LEDs, MEMS, 3D IC, and plastic electronics), the 2013 show is already shaping up to be an important year for the global microelectronics supply chain. Currently, Taiwan is the worldâ€™s largest manufacturing region for LEDs, with an expected 25% of the total manufacturing fabs globally in 2012. In addition, the region is expected to remain as one of the largest markets for equipment and materials spending in both 2012 and 2013.
