The 17th International Symposium on Wireless Personal Multimedia Communications (WPMC 2014) will be held in Sydney, Australia. The WPMC symposia series were inaugurated in 1998, as a global platform which aims at enabling collaboration in the field of wireless information. Held in Asia, Europe and America, WPMC has established itself as a unique global conference dedicated to wireless multimedia convergence. Continuing the series, the 17th International Symposium on Wireless Personal Multimedia Communications will be held for the first time in Australia. The theme’s of this year’s conference is “Orchestrating Wireless Personal Multimedia Communications for Digital Servicesâ€. In addition to high–quality technical sessions, the symposium will feature keynotes, workshops and tutorials. It will also offer an exciting social program.
Topics of interest include but are not limited to:
Wireless Communications and PHY
– Information and coding theory
– Radio propagation and channel modeling
– Advanced modulation schemes
– Signal processing
– Space–time coding and MIMO
– Cooperative communications
– Interference characterization
– Cognitive radio
– Green communications
– Smart antennas
Internet of Things and M2M Communications
– IoT and M2M communications devices
– PHY design for IoT and M2M
– Ad hoc networks and sensor networks
– QoS and routing
– Next generation home networks
– IoT and M2M multimedia services
– IoT and M2M enabling scenarios
– Smart grid communications
Wireless Networks
– Self–organizing networks
– Cross–layer design
– Wireless multicast and streaming
– Multimedia QoS and traffic management
– Mobility, location and handoff management
– Localization for wireless networks
– Cognitive radio networks
– Spectrum sharing and coexistence
– Wireless network security
– Vehicular networks
– Green wireless networks
– International standards
Communications Services and Multimedia Applications
– Mobile multimedia services
– Emerging wireless and mobile applications
– QoS and QoE for multimedia applications
– Mobile social networks
– Application security and privacy
– Service oriented architectures
– Cloud computing
– User interfaces, user–machine interactions
– Wireless health applications
– Experimental trials and deployment
