Abstract

The aim of the ICT Innovations conference is to promote the publication of scientific results of the international community related to innovative fundamental and applied research in ICT&#046; The conference will gather academics, professionals and practitioners willing to report valuable experiences in developing solutions and systems in the industrial and business arena&#046; This includes but not limits to: innovative research, commercial implementations, novel applications of technology, and experience in applying recent research advances to practical problems, in different ICT areas&#046;<br>ICT INNOVATIONS 2016 Topics<br>The special conference topic for this year is "Cognitive Functions and Next Generation ICT Systems"&#046;<br>We live in the era when the technologies are intimately waved into virtually all aspects of our daily lives&#046; Becoming almost invisible, they help us achieve much more things but there are also many shortcomings and unforeseen consequences&#046; On the good side, we can have bodily sensors tracking our physical activity, physiological parameters, sleep patterns which can help in detecting patterns or problems&#046; On the other side, for example, our attention span is getting shorter and shorter as we are being constantly interrupted by notifications, emails, and instant messages delivered to our cell phones or watches, and similar disturbances&#046; Moreover, the privacy issues involved in storing and manipulation of these data must not be neglected&#046;<br>The technological convergence of sciences that were considered as separated in the past, like information and communication technologies, cognitive sciences, nanotechnologies and biotechnologies, will actually determine not only our society, health and economy, but also our education and culture&#046;<br>This conference aims to bring together academics as well as industrial practitioners, to discuss these next generation emerging technologies, systems and applications and identify their opportunities and challenges in relation to human cognitive functions&#046;<br>
