The Special Session on INFORMATION AND SOFTWARE TECHNOLOGIES FOR INTELLIGENT POWER SYSTEMS (WISTIPS) will be held at the 23rd International Conference on Information and Software Technologies (ICIST) scheduled on the 12–14 October, 2017 in Druskininkai, Lithuania.<br>SCOPE<br>Many energy companies are currently operating in an increasingly competitive and deregulated environment which makes exceptionally challenging achieving of the goal of producing electrical energy of the required quality delivered at the lowest price. This stimulates development of the effective and efficient instruments which are helping to design, implement and control intelligent electrical energy systems and optimize their performance. Researchers who are working in the areas related to information and software technologies for Intelligent Power Systems (IPSs) are invited to submit papers which present already achieved experience (both good results and bad results are equally important to know in order to learn), work in progress as well as challenging ideas which are related to the general topic of this Workshop.<br>TOPICS<br>Authors are invited to submit full papers describing original research work associated with Information and Software Technologies for Intelligent Power Systems (IPSs) related problems in areas including, but not limited to:<br>– Use of Formal Methods and CADs in Design of IPSs<br>– Advanced Software Development Methods and Tools for IPSs<br>– Information Systems for IPSs<br>– Decision Support Systems for IPSs<br>– Modelling and Simulation for IPSs<br>– Artificial Intelligence Techniques for IPSs<br>
